Cathy Fieseler, MD
Dr. Fieseler practices primary care sports medicine in the Christus Trinity Mother Frances Health Systems in Tyler, TX. She is the head team physician for the University of Texas at Tyler (Division 3), medical director of the Fresh 15K and Rose City Triathlon (both in Tyler), national educator for Team in Training, and former president of the American Medical Athletic Association.
Fieseler received her medical degree from the Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed her residency in family medicine at Womack Army Community Hospital in Fort Bragg, NC. She then pursued a primary care sports medicine fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, OH, where she also acted as team physician for the Cleveland Rockers of the WNBA. Fieseler is Board Certified in Family Medicine with CAQ in Primary Care Sports Medicine.
During her service in the US Army as a physician (1985-1992), Fieseler was a faculty member in the Fort Belvoir family medicine residency and the primary care sports medicine fellowship program. She has authored several sports medicine book chapters and articles and is former special editor for Running Times magazine.
